Nissan Z might have a new nose, at least in Japan.

At least for the Japanese version, the Nissan Z, a sports car made by the Japanese carmaker, may get a new front-end design. At the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon, Nissan recently debuted a prototype of the Z with a novel split-grille design, and according to a report by Japanese Nostalgic Car, this alternate front-end treatment may become a dealer-installed option in Japan later this year. While some may appreciate the new design as a way to give the Z's face more defined features, it's uncertain whether this option will be available for the American market. When asked to confirm the report, a spokesperson from Nissan's North American team stated that the company has yet to announce anything. However, there is still hope for American Z enthusiasts who desire a different front-end design or improved performance, as a track-focused Nismo prototype has been spotted with a new front design and is expected to be sharper in handling.

It is worth noting that the Nissan Z has been a popular sports car for decades and has a dedicated fan base. The current design of the Z has a distinctive front end with a large grille, which some enthusiasts have found polarizing. The new split-grille design showcased in the prototype at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon has received mixed reactions, but it is clear that Nissan is considering different options for the Z's design.

Nissan is considering making other changes to the Z in addition to the new split-grille design. The company has also been testing a Nismo prototype designed for the racetrack, which should have better handling and performance. The fact that this prototype has also been seen with a different front-end design raises the possibility that Nissan is evaluating a variety of possibilities for the Z's appearance and functionality.

For American Z enthusiasts, the wait to see if the new split-grille design or the Nismo prototype will be available in the US market continues. While Nissan has yet to confirm anything, the fact that the automaker is testing different designs and prototypes suggests that they are considering new options for the Z. It remains to be seen if the American market will see the new split-grille design or the Nismo prototype, but fans of the Z will be keeping a close eye on any official announcements from Nissan.

In conclusion, the Nissan Z is a popular sports car among many aficionados and has a long and illustrious history. The carmaker is taking many choices into consideration for the Z's appearance and functionality, including the new split-gr
